Insurance
Claim settlement ratio (CSR)
The percentage of claims an insurer actually paid out, a key trust signal for life insurers.
CSR is the share of claims an insurer settled out of all claims it received in a year. A 98% CSR means 98 of every 100 claims were paid.
For term insurance especially, a high CSR matters, because the whole point is that they pay your family when you are gone.
Look for insurers consistently above 97%, and read the fine print so claims aren't rejected for hidden reasons.
For example
Choosing a term insurer with a 98.5% CSR over one at 92% means far better odds your family's claim actually gets paid.
